I am very worried about Hegseth and Gabbard. And I keep wondering whether Putin is involved with those picks.
What U.S. institutions would Putin want most to destroy? I think it’s the military and the intelligence community. Hegseth is just the kind of person who would be disruptive and who would hurt military cohesion and morale. And the…

Maybe I am giving Putin and the Kremlin more credit than they deserve, but I can’t help thinking about how cozy Elon has been with Putin and Trump lately. I feel certain he’s passing communications between them.
He found out last time that he couldn’t use the military like his own private army men toys. So he’s been saying he’s going to investigate and charge the generals etc, who refused to obey him last time, and anyone else who dismisses his orders. He talks about wanting to do some really really sick things.
Yeah, concurring. Read HRC from last night, the 21st. The strategy seems to be to cut off the head of American Democracy by installing people who will destroy it from the inside out. How do we fight the right fight here, because he will never put in qualified people. At least not qualified or interested in the health and well-being of the people or creating a more perfect union. I am fighting for that.
How much are these blood suckers paid as elected representatives? How can they behave like they do without threats of losing their position? The way DeSantis is planning who to fill the vacancy of Rubio & Paedo-Gaetz it’s like his own fiefdom. At tax payers expense!!!
As an Australian our elected parliament reps would never get away with this shit. The local media would crucify them & the voters would demand resignation, if not criminal charges!!
It's not the pay, Merri. You can look up the pay online. Relatively speaking, it's peanuts considering the cost of living in that town. Nope, it's the insider information that they get (granted it's illegal as hell, but whatever) so they can play on Wall Street, and the jobs that their family members can get on the Beltway. Also, it's the subsidies they can get steered their way, e.g. the PPP loan that MTG got in 2020 for $800,000 that she subsequently was 'forgiven'. Or same year, Senators David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler sold some stock and bought into some healthcare stock specifically to profit off the COVID pandemic PRIOR to announcements by the administration of certain "shortages" of masks, PPE, and other goods. Illegal? Oh, yeah. Prosecuted? Heck, no. They made millions. They weren't the only ones. (It's part of the reason that Ossoff and Warnock were elected. It made Georgians madder than hell.)
Aussie politics aren't immune, but there isn't as much of it. Your press is really good at calling this stuff out which is good. Unfortunately, y'all exported Rupert Murdoch up here and he bought up huge chunks of our broadcast media and shifted the message to the far right. One of his sons would change that, but the other one is very like him. There are too many situations like that.
HA! Putin would never have one. He's too paranoid. A car that even remotely has the possibility of catching fire? Not a chance. That guy doesn't even sleep in the same place twice. He travels from place to place in a special armored train. He has something like 6 palaces that he rotates between. His vehicles are heavily armored. Those pictures you see of him sitting at the far end of a very long table? It's to negate the possibility of him catching any kind of illness or anyone slipping a bomb or weapon in to attack him. That is one paranoid little dude. I suppose his background in the old KGB made him that way, but he must have ulcers the size of saucers.
Apparently, those Russians are really tough. He seems to be like Rasputin. If you don't know about THAT old priest, look him up. He was at least partially responsible for the Russian Revolution, and they shot him, poisoned him, tried to drown him, and something else. He just wouldn't die. I forget what finally got him. They are tough.

Trump doesn’t play chess but Putin does.

Does Putin drive a Tesla yet?

I wish the stress would kill him
