I said it right at the start and people around me thought I was being alarmist. They never intended to follow the law. They never intended to follow due process. They never intended to abide by court rulings.
The wheels of justice are very slow and they always intended to use that to their advantage. Don’t like what a person is saying? Deport them. By the time it comes before a judge, it will be too late. I think Tee (comment above) is right.
At this point I honestly think there’s nothing we can do except take to the streets…it sucks that we as a country aren’t marching on washington. I suppose though when you’ve made the opposition to maga politics the enemies we end up with this bullshit that’s happening. What is this country gonna be like by summer?
I have already taken it to the streets, at least 5 times. Where the hell is everybody? Do people think this stuff isn't going to affect them?!? Vote with your feet, citizens!
All 5 were in Madison, WI. One was at a Tesla dealership and the rest at the State Capitol. I've spent time researching and found that Indivisible is a good resource, as is 50501. There are many more sources out there but you have to do the search. Try here: https://handsoff2025.com/?SQF_SOURCE=indivisible
Like the “paradox” of tolerance, due process should be denied to those who deny due process to others.
Trump & co are Liars & Outliers (& thieves, grifters, egomaniacs, crypto/Christofascists, rapists, murderers by proxy, psychopaths, and more), preying on decent societies’ rules that are intended for social beings: there a- and anti-social natures must be curtailed for said societies to survive.
"If these hundreds of migrants were actually undocumented criminals, due process would allow him to deport them. So why skip it? So he can test this Supreme Court to see if they’ll let him detain and deport anyone he wants."
This is all great but you're describing the water our COUNTRY is drowning in, we get Trump is bad and what he's doing is bad, but do we really have time to sit around and describe the bad things they're doing. What are we going to do to save our COUNTRY. How do we organize how do we fight back. Words alone aren't going to make a difference.
By 2s and 3s. Use a modified cell set up. Bring a couple people of intelligence and good with to a school board meeting. Get and keep math and science to grade 12.
Yeah We need to organize get Leaders as suggested before: Pete B jasmine Crockett AOC Bernie Sanders and Tim Walz and protest in shifts if we have to!!!! NEVER GIVE UP!!
The Congress under GOP control has already sacrificed its own co-equal power to Trump, starting with the Senate failing to convict him, twice. Whether SCOTUS makes the same sacrifice is THE big question hanging in the air. If that happens, then the Constitution is definitely done for.
I feel like if Trump feels so threatened by DEI and people who don't kiss his ring, well he should take his followers and the
sycophants in his administration, should take a plane or 2, to fly to Russia and live with his like minded friends there. I'm sure he'll love it. I'm so angry and so tired of his incessant whining. It will take years to rebuild what he broke in 2 months. I don't say this lightly, I hate Trump and his lies.
I am not sure the Alien Enemies Act was the legal basis for the internment of Japanese Americans. I believe It was only used to remove Japanese and German citizens living in the US. They had some other excuse to lock up Americans. That said I fully agree with your assessment of the Trump Administration running rough shod over due process.

Exactly. Oopsie 😏!

I am not aware of any demonstrations in my locality. How did you find out about the ones you've attended and where were they?

Thank you.
My pleasure.
Good stuff but bring a few small clippings that have local school board meeting dates and pass them to engaged but maybe not enraged folk.
Maybe include meet dates for other offices as well.
Don't count on SCOTUS...
It's a roll of the dice with them on almost everything...

Exactly right. America as we know it is done.
Good point. But it's not done till SCOTUS rules.

Due Process only works if the judge is not corrupt.
Yes. Trump has been able to corrupt all of the GOP. Any uncorrruptible have left. I can't imagine the federal judiciary has many who corruptible.
Yeah We need to organize get Leaders as suggested before: Pete B jasmine Crockett AOC Bernie Sanders and Tim Walz and protest in shifts if we have to!!!! NEVER GIVE UP!!
But you are a leader as well.
You and two friends, go to a school board meeting. Get science and math mandatory to grade 12.

We are at the constitutional crisis stage. It’s here. Pay attention. Steel your spine. Resist.
