That's a wrap on the DNC! Day One Photo Blog
What an incredible four days! Here's a photo blog for Day One. Days Two - Four to follow.
While legacy media complains about the content creators getting access to delegates and high profile democrats at the DNC this past week - we (the content creators) put our heads down and did the work. As First Lady Michelle Obama said in her speech, when there’s a mountain in front of us, we don’t get an escalator to give us a ride to the top. We put our heads down and do the work!
I kicked off the convention with an appearance on The Weekend on MSNBC - touting Kamala Harris’ economic policy.
Despite the New York Times headline saying “Joy is not a Strategy”, I can tell you that Harris/Walz has a comprehensive policy and campaign strategy including, but not limited to:
Hiring double the campaign lawyers as we had in 2020
A national ground game with tens of thousands of volunteers
Building 3M housing units
Cutting taxes for the middle class
A national ban on price gouging
Restoring Roe if we flip the House and hold the Senate
Increasing the number of drugs eligible for price negotiations
Removing tax benefits for corporate landlords who buy single family housing in bulk
A tax credit for builders who sell to first time home buyers
Expanding the earned income tax credit
Capping insulin at $35 for everyone
Banning corporate landlords from using price fixing tools
Increasing the child tax credit
Extending ACA subsidies
And that’s just the beginning.
I also hopped on Fox5 DC with Jim Lokay to promote the DNC and the Harris/Walz platform.
Then I jumped on a plane and headed to Chicago for the party of the century. There were a lot of delays getting to Chicago from DC because all the USSS protectees that were also making their way there. But we made it in one piece!
After arriving, checking in, walking to another hotel to catch a shuttle to McCormick Place, getting day one credentials, and then heading back to the hotel to record the Daily Beans podcast, we all jumped a shuttle to United Center.
The line wasn’t too bad to get in, and we were all grateful for the security AND the perfect weather served up in the Windy City.
We made it inside in less than 20 minutes, and I was overwhelmed by the facilities provided to the content creators. Here’s a shot from the Blue Carpet with a giant digital Step and Repeat for content creators to conduct interviews and snap photos.
We even had a creators’ lounge where we could fuel up with food and drinks and hobnob with other creators. I stopped by the lounge multiple times during the convention to grab a bite and charge my phone. I ran into Hasan Piker, Parker Short, Brooklyn Dad Defiant, Tizzy Ent, Charlotte Clymer, Politics Girl, Victor Shi, and Jill Wine Banks just to name a few.
I was able to get a seat way up in the nosebleeds and the energy was like nothing I’d ever seen. We got a surprise visit from the candidate herself!
There were appearances by AOC, Jasmine Crockett, Jason Isbell, Shawn Fain, and of course, Hillary Clinton and President Joe Biden. The love in the room was so thick you could cut it with a knife.
We didn’t get back to the hotel until midnight, but the party continued with everyone just beaming with stories and joy. I slept like a baby, but had to get up early to get to work on Day Two.

AG: Thank-you for sharing. And if the legacy media did a better job of fair and fact-based reporting instead of headlines like “Joy is not a Strategy”, perhaps they'd get better access. Harris has their game pegged and independent media is growing accordingly.
Love the pics and commentary. You might have to have a separate show to go over the 4 days...
