These slimy bastards are not even honest brokers. Is there a way to set up a registration system for advertisers?

We simply have not done enough as a country to stop disinformation/misinformation. We have the power and the money to stop this crap. We’ve chosen not to.

Agreed, however five corporations own nearly everything you read, hear and see!

Isn't this worth a regular mention during the production of the daily podcast(s). As a Patron, I don't hear the ads, so I wouldn't be able to help you nail down these dickheads. But a casual listener, (IOW, a future Patron), would be able to help be on the lookout, so maybe you could act quicker and more aggressively. So sorry you have to go to any trouble just to keep your feed clean of haters. As always I wish you and your team all the best and thank you for your hard work! jg

Good on you, Allison.

I believe in capitalism, but, it can only coexist within modern democracies, with restraints placed on it, that encourage our better angels.

When television, social media & podcasting all use the same kinds of repetitive & deceptive saturation techniques, in their attempts to fool people. Techniques expertly practiced by wannabe fascist dictator Trump; SCOTUS & other GOP politicians have done their best to promote these techniques, with their, hands off & deregulatory business policies, that encourage all manner of deceptive business practice. GOP controlled businesses give the game away in their advertising; so successful have their saturation practices been, in the business sector, that they apply the same mind- altering saturation & monopolistic business techniques to consumers of our political discourse.

Instead of trying to be competitive on an even playing field, with honest appeals to majority supported issues, the GOP uses all sorts of unethical, & in some cases illegal, methods, such as voter suppression, gerrymandering & creating feux outrage & fear, so that they can rule with unpopular minority policies.

The country advances with higher social integrity when corporate America fears government enforcement, as it did under T. Roosevelt and FDR. Most importantly, however, consumers receive some modicum of protection from the excesses of business predation.

I hope President Harris will put some real teeth in the Consumer Protection Bureau, just as Biden has done with the FTC. Consumers are responsible for 3/4 of the nation's successful economy, it's high time that they benefited from 3/4 of the nation's wealth and political power. US consumers have the potential to be the most powerful union the world has ever known, the only thing lacking is solidarity.

I also hope we get large majorities in both Houses so we can finally get off the campaign finance merry-go-round & finance elections the way T. Roosevelt suggested, thru publicly financed elections that strictly limit contributions by individuals. It will also take a Herculean effort to repair our extremely activist GOP Supreme Court, yet another by-product of too much money in politics, only Democrats have the inclination to repair it. Vote blue, all the way thruπŸ’™.

Thanks for explaining this. I'm not the listener who contacted you, but this explains the bizarre whiplash that I experience once in a while online or listening to podcasts. I'm going to share this post with some other companies.

What a great Bazinga! for you to donate to Harris / Walz. Maybe donate to some down ballot candidates as well, Congress needs to be blue to push back these dumbasses

I am inundated with Republican Ads and have decided the following. 1. I let it run so they have to pay my Democratic Host while I go get a cup of coffee. 2. I personally block the ad if I feel annoyed. 3. I report the ad for either encouraging violence (I was getting a MAGA in camo) or for promoting a rip off con job. I was doing this to Trump but decided he needed to pay income to my favorite broadcasts.

Thanks Moon Cat, I’ve done that a little but now, I’ll double down. I’ll be as relentless as they are.

Doesn't feel like a high-ROI ad strategy for them. What am I missing?

This also happens on a couple of other podcast networks I’m familiar with, and they’ve explained the issues they face. I’m glad I can afford to be a patron so that I don’t have to hear any advertising, no matter the source! I will have to pony up a gift patronage for some less fortunate Beans listener who is stuck listening to ads!
