I think Merrick Garland’s DOJ has been negligent in multiple ways. Also did Gaetz lie on his gun permit application re his drug use? What is prosecutable for Hunter should be for Matt.

Exactly. They wanted to set that precedent (I do believe Hunter's charge is BS) so it should be applied accordingly.

“BS”? How do?

Nancy, did Matt’s gun end up in an open trash can across the street from a school like Hunters did?

Hunter was charged with lying on the gun permit forms, not for it ending up in a trash can. If Gaetz also lied about his drug use on the same forms, he should see the same punishment

But Hunter should have been charged with unsafely securing his weapon, particularly in a school zone, right?

Did Gaetz lie on a Federal gun application? I was not aware. If so, of course he should be charged. Anyone should.

Our justice system is, like our medical system, 100% broken. This is an ABOMINATION.

The only way things work in this country is if each branch regards the other branches without fear or favor within the boundaries of their constitutional responsibilities and duties. In this case, I think we can all agree that the Justice department abdicated their responsibilities in going after Congress people and the former president when they should have. Letting politics get in the way of justice is why we're in such a mess these days.

Are you referring to the DOJ declining to prosecute Joe Biden for all the classified documents he had in multiple locations including docs from when he was Senator and should have never left a SCIF?

Or the DOJ (Graves, Weiss, Manaco) letting the statute of limit ions run on Hunters most serious tax crimes and FARA lobbying violations?

My guess is no but please surprise me.

They appointed a special counsel to look into Biden's documents. He didn't recommend prosecution, because it was obvious there was no malicious intent and everything was returned when discovered. I have no idea what you're going on about

You could add that the special counsel's report on Biden, while admittedly having nothing for which to charge him, tried mightily to poison the well with innuendo and personal attacks. It seems like neither the felon's nor Biden's DOJ was a shining example of transparency, equity, or timeliness.

Don't forget that all of Trump's charges were taken to a grand jury of ordinary people for them to vote whether the government had a case or were just going after a political rival.

I'm not really sure how much more transparent they could have been

Gaetz like so many rich and privileged people, just do not believe our laws apply to them and they show it in every and anyway possible and they get away with it through a justice system that claims to be “blind and equal a for all”! Which is a fantasy that we’ve all been fed throughout our lives! If it is truly “blind and equal”, then Gaetz and whole slew of others must be held accountable, or our justice system is just toothless when it comes to the rich and privileged in our society! It’s got to stop!

Sadly Trump is about to take over the Government where he can direct the federal department of justice not to prosecute, and 100% will do so.

I’m sorry, but the representatives who write and campaign for decency are a disgrace to our moral compass! Obviously, there are many more representatives and elected officials throughout the country that have and will continue to do worse, if we the American people allow this kind of behavior, for whatever reason!

Is there anything criminal, that DOJ will pursue?

Over and over again they ignore Republicans corruption, let it slide. Merrick Garland is a huge disappointment , I question his credibility and integrity .

Apparently has no desire to call anyone out for their criminality.

Pitiful.

True, Barr killed Reagan’s treasonous Irangate investigation, H.R’s Iran Contra, redacted the damning evidence of the full Mueller report and everyone knows his history of investigation pass for Trump. Why is Barr not the permanent guest of an oubliette?

Florida's statue of limitations for statutory rape is only 3 years?!

Although I understand that certain crimes become much harder to investigate and prosecute as time goes by, this short a limitation shows that they don't really take it seriously.

As with many other sexual assault crimes, it seems it's illegal in name only.

I don't know if we'll ever know what motivated Garland's DOJ. We will find our in time, but long time. Please don't burn that candle at both ends for a while. We need you, and others will take up the slack. Loyalty will not diminish. Self care is important.

Succinct, TNX for all you do Mueller.

I'm a fan of Swift Justice for the likes of Gaetz and ilk. My resolve would have dealt finality years ago. I was slow to pick up on DOJ's negligence with regards to this matter... But the malfeasance scotus has bestowed makes them complicit with treason. 14,3 clear to me.

This inauguration can not be and not by my words alone. What will a Blue revolt look like? What will it take? Or will it be America monetized, everything must go?
