Excellent advice. No matter what your emotional state is at this moment, you must get that grievance filed. If you’re fortunate enough to be represented by a union, call them immediately for guidance. If not, get legal advice. If you can’t do either for whatever reason, use the template letter, get a signature at the other end to show it was received. And keep copies of everything. Hard copies are essential for all paperwork. Good luck to all of you who are being so badly treated for simply doing your jobs.
Thank you for providing specific help. I am saddened that hard working civil servants have to endure the abuse of a man not worthy of his office. The American people will remember how we have felt during this administration.
I've got almost 11,000 followers on BlueSky and if this helps just one of them, you have made me and them very happy. I have been sharing all of your stacks about this. Thank you for your hard work and compassion, Allison. 💙
Thanks for the good advice. One other thing to know. The step that follows formally is often a hearing before the MERIT SYSTEMS PROTECTION BOARD. That Board has 3 members, one of whom must be of party different from the other two. There are 2 Dems on it. One of those has his term expiring on MARCH 1, 2025. Betcha can't guess what will replace him. In theory this board is impartial. It isn't likely to stay that way. And there may well be a tremendous backup. If you are among those who can appeal a Board decision to the Federal Appeals Court, there may be a considerable delay if this isn't resolved informally at the first step. Be prepared. FIND COUNSEL
But do not quit. If you are fired, you will be able to get unemployment. If you quit, you won't.
If the board rejects a grievance, there will still be a path forward to legal action. Each step leads to the next until it moves from administrative to civil (court) action.

I am so grateful to you and others like you who are fighting back! I am right there with you, my friend!
How wonderful of you to help in this way. Thank you!
So glad you posted this for those who need it!!! More of this type of help will be needed and critical to our survival of the next four years!
Important information for all whose employment has been impacted by recent Trump Administration actions or notifications.

Thank you, Allison. And thank you to all the workers who are standing up and fighting against this treatment.
Great opportunity to stand up, folks.

not everyone gets to move onward to court. A lot do, but the problem is going to be being able to GET to the point of board rejection.
Thank you.
Thank you for doing this.
Wow I’m proud of you all!
You are a beacon in this current desert. Thank you~
You are an inspiration. ✌🏻
Will similar actions be taken against contract employees as well?
