Harris 2024
Joe Biden will go down in history as one of the greatest presidents in modern history, and Kamala Harris is poised to be our first black woman president. I couldn't be more proud of democrats today.
As you know, just three days ago I couldn’t sleep, and I wrote about feeling lost. Today, that changed.
As you’ve heard by now, President Biden - whom I never stopped supporting - made the decision to drop out of the race after the media’s relentless attacks tanked his perceived chances. I’m still furious at the media, and this morning, I was heartbroken that his candidacy had succumbed to the pressure from the punditocracy and wealthy donors.
But then something incredible happened. He immediately endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris. Within hours, she got hundreds of endorsements that usually trickle in over the period of a year or more. She took over the Biden campaign and his $96M war chest. She has raised over $50M and counting from small-dollar donors, social media exploded with excitement, and she’s poised to get enough pledged delegates to win the nomination by end of day Wednesday. All talk of the Republican National Convention has ceased as though it never even happened. And Donald Trump is pissed that he’s wasted years of going after the Bidens with his attack dogs in congress, and that whatever Russian AI bot farms he was relying on to win are now completely useless. Saying nothing of all the made-in-China Let’s Go Brandon swag.
As John Fugelsang told me on The Daily Beans podcast this past Friday, Joe did the right thing by waiting for Trump to announce his VP pick before making the hard and selfless decision to step down as candidate for president. And donald is already running scared from having to debate Harris in September - calling for it to be hosted by Fox news and not ABC.
As I said three days ago:
No one is coming to save us. As Obama said on Super Tuesday in 2008 - we are the ones we’ve been waiting for. Our institutions - including democracy - are not here to save us. We are here to save and protect our institutions. And no matter who is on that ballot come November - I trust us to do the right thing.
The right thing now includes a black woman defeating the most racist and anti-woman ticket in modern history. And with what I’ve seen today, I know we can win.

I’m saddened about Biden. I’m also worried that the same powers that forced Biden out will sabotage Harris. AOC spoke about this…the Big Money doesn’t want Harris, either. The Dems better not fuck this up. I am NOT proud of Dem leadership right now. I hope they prove me wrong.
It wasn't too awful for me when I heard the news. I was voting blue no matter who. But I am still furious over the way Joe Biden was treated. He deserved better. But on the other hand, maybe we needed this turmoil, just to remind us what's at stake. And I can't say I'm sorry to watch Trump have his meltdown. Kamala Harris has to be Trump's worst nightmare.
