DNC Day Two Photoblog
Now that the Aileen Cannon appeal and superseding Trump indictment are behind us, here's my Day Two experience at the DNC!
I woke up early on Day Two for a quick appearance on Scripps News, who was posted up at a local coffee shop called The Goddess and the Baker to discuss the Harris/Walz platform for Veterans and Active Duty Service Members. It’s of note that this happened before Trump decided to desecrate the hallowed ground of Section 60 at Arlington National Cemetery, but we did discuss his disrespect of the Congressional Medal of Honor, and what Trump’s project 2025 will do to our heroes.
After that appearance, I headed to the new designated spot to pick up my daily Creator Credential. The DNC invited around 200 of us to cover the Convention from The United Center, and I ran into a few good friends at the Credentialing location! Charlotte Clymer - one of the most amazing friends I’ve made on this journey, and Fred Wellman who I finally got to meet when I joined Vote Vets earlier this year to lobby Congress to fund Ukraine.
Once I secured my Day Two Credential, I headed back to the hotel to record the Daily Beans pod, and had the distinct honor of interviewing Shasti Conrad - the chair of the Washington Democratic Party - who would later announce the state’s delegates for Harris and Walz during the most exciting and entertaining roll call anyone has ever seen.
By that point, it was already after 3 PM local time and I made my way to the United Center to see if I could catch the roll call and maybe see the Obamas speak, but the throngs of people trying to get in made it impossible to gain entry. Plus, I had organized a cocktail reception for local Daily Beans listeners who couldn’t get into the Convention - so I had to make sure I was back to the hotel in time for that.
Once back at the hotel, I watched the incredible roll call, then immediately found the playlist on Spotify and headed to the Daily Beans reception, where I got to meet the amazing Mallory McMorrow. You may remember her viral speech from the well of the Michigan Senate. From WGBH: In April, Michigan state Sen. Lana Theis, a Republican, sent a fundraising email accusing her Democratic colleague state Sen. Mallory McMorrow of being a “groomer” who sexualized children. “I am the biggest threat to your hollow, hateful scheme,” McMorrow said in her speech. “You can't claim that you are targeting marginalized kids in the name of quote ‘parental rights’ if another parent is standing up to say no.”
During the Convention, she gave an incredible speech about Trump’s Project 2025, and it was an honor to meet her.
Then we all watched the Michelle and Barrack Obama speeches while enjoying cocktails, sodas, and food. It was so much fun to share that moment with like-minded folks. I can’t wait to tell you about Day Three! Stay tuned!

Thanks for sharing this. You're meeting all the people I'd be eager to meet if I were able to go. I'm so impressed with the work that you've done from there and all the work you continue to do...it's invaluable!
Thank you for all your diligence and coverage for all these years!
