Absolutely disgusting. How the legal system, the media, hate and ignorance destroyed America

trump played the stall game and timed out...for now! If he lives to leave office, he can be taken back to court after he's out! Now...Joe Biden needs to make Jack Smith a Judge so trump can't touch him!

Joe won’t do that but it sounds nice.

Naw. I think Jackie Buck-Buck deserves a thorough “touching.”

Horrible .. but I knew it was coming.

I really do not care what they dismiss-

He is a convicted felon, a liar, cheat , and an idiot.

He is the worst thing to happen to America ever and a blight on the history of this country.

He is only a symbol of this evil. The true evil is the societal poison of all his supporters.

Thank you for the update. It makes me sick, though, that this heinous man will walk away scott free for his many crimes. :(

So he gets away with it, all of it! Welcome to the next four years of lawlessness and the impoverishment and deaths of the vulnerable.

If there is any justice in the universe Trump will expire before his current immunity expires, thus giving him everything he’s worked so fucking hard for! 🤬

The whole thing is pathetic. Donald Trump is the most dangerous criminal in the United States but his money, power and bullshit get him off yet again. It doesn’t matter whether it’s dismissed without prejudice. He has a Supreme Court and Congress in his pocket. We used to have a legitimate government and then it morphed into some corrupt individuals. Now it’s 90% corrupted with the Supreme Court advertising that they’re backing a criminal. I don’t know how the DOJ expects anyone to follow law and order if Donald Trump doesn’t have to.

From Charlie sykes today: "Irony Alert: Despite the groveling and appeasement, there will still be a January 20 Massacre. Trump’s allies will wage a campaign of retribution against the prosecutors who tried to hold him accountable. He will pardon the January 6 rioters and assure his shock troops that their loyalty will be rewarded.

And he will be emboldened to defy what remains of the law."

From me today: Perfect, Charlie. It is clear to the "Peanuts" gallery that The Donald and his mates do not give a rat's ass about the law. They know that the system can be gamed and that was put on full display during the J6 and secret documents investigation.

His track record is immense and criminal littered with attempts to hold our next president accountable. He just skates along without fear of anything.

Hats off the late Mr. Charles Schulz, an avid hockey player, cartoonist and a citizen of the town where I grew up and live in.

I think the current political environment would make Snoopy to take to the skies on his doghouse as the Red Baron and take on The Donald.

So, when does he plan to shoot a random stranger on Fifth Avenue?

If we are paying attention, this is showing us all of the weak spots in the justice system that will need to be shored up if we want a future democracy to survive.

Expand full comment

That’s just the thing, though, we ARE NOT paying attention. Congress could have been shoring up and writing laws for the past few years and I think they’ve written one new law that’s applicable to anything that happened Jan 6, it’s pathetic.

Trump granting a pardon, means his co-defendents are guilty without the chance for appeal...

Sickening that Trump walks away from everything. I’ll be forever sad that Merritt Garland moved slowly on assigning Jack Smith and that the Supreme Court slowed things down. Trump should have been put through a trial so the American could know the crimes he’s committed BEFORE the election and BEFORE he became the GOP nominee. Justice denied.

Shoulda, coulda, but not our reality. It seems to me our entire political system is rotten, infected by disease since its beginning.

To accept a pardon, you admit your guilt. If you’re guilty, your co-conspirators by default are also guilty.? Depending on how the charges are worded?

Will there be a report (or 2) as part of wrapping this up that will bring out the evidence or will that have to be held in expectation of an indictment after Trump leaves office?

The only thing that T will face is his maker. I used to wish that upon Kissinger and that SOB lived to be 100 years old! So, I will not make this my wish this time but will preface it by saying “the sooner, the better”.

I’m sick. This is no longer a democracy. Justice died the day SCOTUS released the monarchy ruling.
